Session Overview:

In the northeastern US perinatal substance use disorder is a common condition that affects families and communities
with great impact.  Through telementoring, ECHO creates access to high-quality education and networking in local
communities, and strengthens the local resources available to patients. Physicians can learn and collaborate with each
other to build a coherent model of care for families affected by substance use disorder in pregnancy and early
parenthood.

Target Audience

Physicians, psychologists, social workers, residents and fellows specializing in primary care, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and psychiatry.

Learning Objectives

•Define OUD and describe prevalence of OUD in pregnancy
•Counsel a patient regarding options for treatment for OUD in pregnancy
•Describe induction protocols including low-dose and high-dose buprenorphine inductions
