On-Demand: Applying implementation science to your clinic/CQI

Program Release:
Expiration Date:
Estimated time to complete: 60 Minutes
There are no prerequisites for participation.

OVERVIEW

It takes an average of 14 years for 17% of research findings to be applied in routine clinical practice. Implementation science strives to improve the uptake and sustained use of evidence-based practices in mental health and healthcare settings. This training teaches clinicians and clinical scientists the basics of implementation science – and some practical approaches for applying implementation science tools and mindsets to implement or improve evidence-based practice in their settings. Participants will be introduced to a practical, 4-step process, “explore, prioritize, plan, evaluate,” through experiential exercise using a case study. Using the case study as a touchstone, the workshop will review practical ways to identify and organize barriers and facilitators to evidence-based practice implementation.

Target Audience

This session is open to all faculty, staff and trainees.
