Session Overview

This research seminar will discuss the effects of developmental exposure to the environmental contaminant, lead, on the
heart, and will highlight potential sex differences.

Target Audience

This educational initiative is designed for local, physicians, specialists, residents, and fellows, specializing in Pathology. 

Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, attendees should be better able to:

  • Be able to describe some effects of lead on the cardiovascular system.
  • Articulate the importance of considering sex differences in environmental health studies.
  • Describe how the mouse and human induced pluripotent stem cell models are used in developmental environmental exposure studies.
