This session will review the importance of high-quality school mental health systems to address the youth mental health crisis and describe the best practices that help school teams implement multi-tiered systems of support for school communities. In addition to introducing best practices, time will be spent providing strategies for moving action plans forward when resources are limited.
Target Audience
This session is designed for Rhode Island physicians (primary care and specialists), psychologists, social workers, residents, fellows, medical students, and all other allied health professionals.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be better able to:
- Describe the importance of school mental health
- Provide examples of best practices in school mental health within the 7 domains of a high-quality school mental health system
- Discuss strategies for action planning
