Program Description

This dynamic regional CME conference brings together leading orthopedic experts to explore current best practices, emerging technologies, and real-world decision-making in modern arthroplasty and orthopedic care. Through fast-paced lectures, expert panels, and interactive discussions, participants will gain practical insights into revision total hip arthroplasty and innovations in total joint implant design, among many others, including complex periprosthetic and interprosthetic fracture management.

This year’s program also addresses today’s broader practice environment—highlighting the “ins and outs” of the ambulatory surgery center (ASC) model, operational efficiency, and anesthesia-related challenges. A keynote session on risk, safety, and human performance adds a high-impact perspective relevant to clinical teams and healthcare systems alike.

Target Audience

This conference is designed for arthroplasty surgeons, as well as orthopedic physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, fellows, residents, medical students, and trainees.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this conference, the learner should be better able to:

  1. Apply evidence-based strategies to manage common challenges in revision total hip arthroplasty, including acetabular bone loss, instability risk, and well-fixed implant removal.
  2. Compare contemporary implant design options and emerging technologies to support optimized implant selection in total joint arthroplasty.
  3. Develop management approaches for complex arthroplasty-related fractures and surgical challenges, including interprosthetic fractures, periprosthetic tibia fractures, and retained hardware.
  4. Identify operational and clinical readiness considerations for performing total joint arthroplasty in ambulatory surgery centers, including complication preparedness, efficiency, revision appropriateness, and anesthesia workforce constraints.
  5. Describe core business and leadership principles relevant to orthopedic practice operations and professional growth.
  6. Implement practical strategies for professional development and practice sustainability, including career decision-making, physician branding, and patient-centered advocacy.
  7. Evaluate current evidence and surgical options in primary total knee arthroplasty to inform decision-making regarding fixation method, alignment strategy, patellar resurfacing, and surgical approach.
