This workshop is designed for faculty on the academic tracks (Teaching Scholar, (Research), Research Scholar) in the clinical departments at Brown University. Participants will be able to discuss the faculty appointment and promotion process at the University, along with the track switching process. Panelists and workshop leaders will include senior faculty with considerable experience with the promotion process.

Target Audience

This session is designed for faculty on the Academic Track at Brown University who are interested in expanding their knowledge of promotion criteria and practices, including track changes and their impact on promotions within the departments.

Learning Objectives

After participation in this activity, the learner will be better able to:

  • Identify criteria associated with specific faculty tracks.
  • Apply knowledge of criteria to professional goals and responsibilities.
  • Navigate the promotion process at Brown
