Master Clinician Series –Interdisciplinary Approaches to Gender Affirmative Care
This activity will be presented in person at Butler Hospital, Ray Hall, 4:00-5:30 pm.
Pre-registration is required.
Patients increasingly present for behavioral health care with a range of gender diversity. This session will use case-based discussion to enhance skill development in the assessment of gender-related history, strategies to provide gender-affirming care to gender-diverse patients, and the identification of systems issues in clinical settings that may interfere with the effective provision of care.

Physicians, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Nurse Practitioners, and Social Workers
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Develop skills to complete an affirming, assessment of gender related history and goals for transgender and gender diverse patients
- Increase knowledge, awareness, and strategies to provide culturally humble gender-affirming behavioral health care for transgender and gender diverse patients
- Develop skills to model and encourage all team members (nurses, trainees, administrative staff) to use gender-affirming terms and intervention strategies (as appropriate to role).
