Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the United States, with an estimated 9,500 new cases diagnosed each day.  Many patients with advanced disease require interdisciplinary care.  The major breakthroughs skin cancer management is having broad-reaching effects into nearly every specialty.  This integrated review is designed to provide the latest evidence on the detection and management of malignant melanoma and other skin cancers.  Didactic lectures and interactive case presentations will increase knowledge and improve collaborative approaches to managing both common and complex cases.

Target Audience

Physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners specializing in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, dermatology, surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology and pathology, and other interested medical providers.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity participants should be able to:

• Recognize screening strategies for early detection of malignant melanoma and other skin cancers
• Explain pathology reports including recent updates in histopathology staging
• Describe current concepts in the surgical, medical, and radiation therapy management of skin cancers
• Differentiate between old and new modalities for treatment of advanced stage skin cancers and recognize common side effects of new targeted and immunotherapeutics
• Conceptualize interdisciplinary care in cutaneous oncology
