RIDOH Pandemic Update Calls for Providers
Scheduling note: The RIDOH Pandemic Update for Providers call has moved to a bimonthly/every-other-week schedule starting July 15th, 12:00 noon. On this call, RIDOH clinical experts will provide clarification on recent provider advisories and offer an update on a variety of topics of importance to providers including, but not limited to:
- RI situational awareness,
- Highlights from recent provider advisories,
- COVID treatment update,
- Testing update
Target Audience
This educational series is designed for all licensed healthcare professionals practicing medicine in the state of Rhode Island.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this educational teleconference, the learner should be better able to implement newly obtained knowledge about SARS-CoV2 which causes Covid-19 regarding:
- Epidemiology of COVID-19 in Rhode Island and around the planet.
- Treatment limitations, possibilities, off label uses and experimental trials
- Availability of testing, limitations of testing and understanding how to accomplish testing
- Addressing End of life issues and ethical issues surrounding lack of resources and need to meet a standard of care acceptable to the community
- Infection prevention and control issues in the context of limited PPE
- State how to utilize tele-health as it applies to the same standard of care as in-person visits
