05/17/22: LIVE IN PERSON - Addressing Racial Bias in Patient Care: A Simulation-Based Workshop

This activity will be taking place live, in person at the Warren Alpert Medical School, Room #275.

This session is intended to help participants address racism and microaggressions in their practice of medicine and interactions with colleagues. It utilizes a series of interactive simulation sessions to assist participants in building practical skills. Participants will engage with tools to help handle instances of racial bias. This interactive workshop will utilize the Affirm-Counter-Transform (ACT) framework, and provide opportunities for reflection and discussion.

 

 

Target Audience

All faculty and residents are welcome to participate in this live activity. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to: 

  1. Identify racial bias and racism in interactions related to patient care
  2. Address/intervene on racial bias and racism affecting patient care
  3. Reflect on and address own racial biases
