4th Annual Interdisciplinary Spine Conference
This course will strive to provide the practitioner treating neck and low back pain with a better understanding of the comprehensive care treatment options for low back pain, spinal stenosis, and lumbar disc herniation, which include medication management, rehabilitation through physical, occupational, and vocational approaches, psychological co-management of pain, complementary and alternative medicine options, interventional treatments, and finally a range of minimally to maximally invasive surgical options. The course will help the audience to better understand when the various treatment options for neck and low back pain should be exercised to achieve the best outcomes in both pain and function.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Identify the common diagnostic and imaging tools for neck & low back pain, spinal stenosis, and lumbar disc herniation
- Describe the current evidence-based medical and surgical treatment options including medication management, rehabilitation, psychological co-management, complementary and alternative medicine, and interventional treatment
- Recognize and prescribe appropriate treatment options to achieve the best outcomes in pain and function
- Explain the intersection of physiatric and neurosurgical interventions in the multidisciplinary approach to spasticity management

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations/substitutions must be made in writing to the Brown CME Office at least two weeks prior to the conference, no later than September 20, 2019. A $25.00 administrative fee will be charged for all refunds (no refunds for “no shows”). There will be no additional charge for substitutions. This conference is subject to change or cancellation.

Rhode Island Specific: This program qualifies for 8.0 hours CME Credit in Opioid Pain Management/Chronic Pain Management, one of the required areas of section 6.0; 6.2.1 RI CME re-licensure requirements.
Rhode Island Prescriber Training Requirement: This training meets the requirements set forth in RI Regulation 3.14 Prescriber Training Requirement for Best Practices Regarding Opioid Prescribing. This specific training requirement is required only once & must be completed before renewal of controlled substance registration or two (2) years (whichever is longer).
Chiropractic Physicians: This conference is approved for Continuing Education Credits. Chiropractic Physicians will receive a Certificate of Attendance for up to 8.0 hours.
Nurses: This activity has been submitted to the Northeast Multi-State Division for approval to award contact hours. The Northeast Multi-State Division is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont Nurses Associations are members of the Northeast Multi-State Division of the American Nurses Association.
Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners: Participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance stating this program is designated for 8.0 hours AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. This credit is accepted by the AAPA and AANP.
