TARGET AUDIENCE

This activity is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and residents and fellows in Rhode Island specializing in primary care, family medicine, general medicine, pediatrics and emergency medicine. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After participating in this educational initiative, the learner should be better able to:
  • Identify the difference between opioid dependence and opioid use disorder.
  • Describe the indications for buprenorphine.
  • Describe and apply knowledge of practical considerations for dosing and maintenance.
  • Describe and apply knowledge of precipitated withdrawal and treatment strategies.

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION AND HOW TO RECEIVE CME CREDIT

  • View the CME presentation
  • Complete the post-test
  • Complete the CME activity evaluation in order to receive a credit certificate.
    • Credit claiming is available at the end of each module
