Target Audience

This session is designed for Rhode Island physicians (primary care and specialists), psychologists, social workers, residents, fellows, medical students, and all other allied health professionals. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe the reasons for, and the global scope of family displacement.
  • ​Discuss risk, resilience, and developmental factors associated with mental health outcomes for refugees.
  • Formulate best practice intervention methods to assist traumatized families in refugee camps and those who immigrate to the U.S.
