This session is designed for Rhode Island physicians (primary care and specialists), psychologists, social workers, residents, fellows, medical students, and all other allied health professionals. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be better able to:
  1. Understand how commonly held stereotypes about eating disorders add to the difficulty of diagnosing anorexia nervosa.
  2. State the diagnostic criteria for atypical anorexia nervosa, including how it practically differs from low-weight anorexia nervosa.
  3. Apply evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches to a clinical case of atypical anorexia nervosa.
