Learning Objectives

After participating in this educational initiative, the learner should be better able to:

  • Describe current COVID-19 epidemiology, testing, vaccine, and science trends occurring locally and worldwide
  • Outline the impact COVID-19 infection has on the gastrointestinal (GI) system and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
  • State confidently that COVID-19 vaccinations are safe and effective in general IBD patients that are not otherwise at higher risk for poor outcomes with COVID-19
  • Identify safe IBD medications
