5.14.24 | TB Infection Management for the Primary Care Clinician

May 14, 2024

This is a live webinar via Zoom

Session Description:

TB infection disproportionately impacts non-US born individuals across the United States. Treating latent TB infection can greatly reduce the risk of progression to active TB disease, yet less than half of patients are offered treatment.
Shifting TB infection testing and treatment into primary care is a critical strategy to TB elimination, however, primary care clinicians do not receive appropriate training to allow them to take on this task. This session will provide a
comprehensive overview of TB infection testing and treatment for primary care clinicians.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be better able to:

  • Describe updated LTBI guidelines
  • List TB infection testing and treatment options and choose appropriate treatment options for certain populations
  • Consider the most common LTBI questions and patient scenarios in primary care and offer potential solutions
