In-person Conference | Suicide in Healthcare & Science: We’re Talking About It
Suicide in Healthcare and Science: We’re Talking About is a half-day suicide awareness conference. Suicide is a major health issue that has a tremendous impact on individuals, families, and the healthcare and science community. This program is designed to: reduce stigma through education, share resources, provide support, and recognize the importance of our ability to be there for each other.
Thank you to our collaborators and co-sponsors!
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to The Miriam Hospital for co-sponsorship and Lifespan & Care New England Health Systems for their collaboration, making this conference possible. A special thanks to Corey Fiest, CEO of the Dr. Lorna Breen Foundation, and Lynette Charity, MD, for being our distinguished guests. We also want to express our gratitude to the Rhode Island Medical Society's Physician Health Program,American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Rhode Island, Warren Alpert Medical School's Student Health Council, Brown University Counseling and Psychological Services, Brown's Consortium for Research Innovation in Suicide Prevention (CRISP), our distinguished moderators, panelists, and workshop presenters, and planning committee members for their invaluable support.
This event is supported by The Charles O. Cooke M.D. Distinguished Visiting Lectureship, which was established in 1994 through a bequest by Mrs. Ruth Cooke Peterson. The endowment supports a lectureship in any branch of medicine which can hold the promise of significant and lasting benefit to medical education at Brown, to the community, or to the delivery of health care services.
We look forward to an enriching event with all of your contributions!
