Overview
This session will provide attendees with a clear definition of what academic entrepreneurship is, understand its key principles, and explain why it is important in the context of academic medical settings. Further, attendees will be able to identify opportunities for academic entrepreneurship within the hospital setting, including the exploration of real case examples. They will learn how these examples illustrate the application of entrepreneurial principles in medical research, clinical practice, and healthcare management.
Target Audience
This session is designed for Rhode Island physicians (primary care and specialists), psychologists, social workers, residents, fellows, medical students, and all other allied health professionals.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be better able to:
Define academic entrepreneurship and its relevance
Evaluate relevant examples of academic entrepreneurship
Utilize resources for further exploration
