DPHB Master Clinician Series: Early Stage Psychosis
Emerging data suggest that intervention with patients who present with early-phase psychosis can improve long-term outcomes. This interactive, case-based discussion will provide an overview of clinical features of early-phase psychosis, and strategies to use with patients to engage them in effective treatment.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
- Describe the clinical characteristics and common presenting features of early-phase psychosis
- Develop skills to screen for factors indicating treatment need, receptivity, and likelihood of success
- Develop strategies to use in the clinical encounter to intervene with patients who present with early phase psychosis.
