Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
• Understand the surgical anatomy & approaches to the operative spine from occiput to the pelvis
• Describe indications for surgical stabilization and instrumentation in patients with trauma, deformity, tumor and degenerative diseases of the spine
• Compare and contrast minimally invasive and traditional open approaches to spine surgery
• Outline the diversity of surgical treatment of spinal disorders and promote evidence-based strategies towards understanding of how surgical intervention effects pain and functional outcomes in spine patients
