Master Clinician Series – Cannabis Use and Psychosis

This activity will be presented in person at Butler Hospital, Ray Hall, 4:00-5:30 pm. 
Pre-registration is required.

Cannabis use is becoming more common given recent policy changes and increased availability. Research indicates that
cannabis use increases risk for psychiatric disorders, including psychosis. Health care providers require training in how to
evaluate and treat patients with co-occurring psychiatric problems and cannabis use in order to provide effective care.

Target Audience

This activity is designated for physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and social workers.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  • Develop skills to complete an evaluation of co-occurring psychiatric problems and cannabis use among adolescents, young adult, and adult patients.
  • Increase knowledge, awareness, and strategies to provide best-practices for treatment for co-occurring cannabis use and psychiatric symptoms.
  • Develop strategies to implement treatment for co-occurring cannabis use and psychiatric symptoms across a range of settings of different levels of acuity.
