Overview

This session provides practical and psychological preparation for physicians involved with malpractice litigation. Using one physician’s experience, the session seeks to reduce the shame and isolation associated with being sued. While not providing legal advice, the session addresses helpful tips and supports for physicians navigating the litigation process. No direct experience with malpractice is necessary in order to benefit from these important insights!

Target Audience

All faculty and residents are welcome to attend these sessions.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this course, the learner should be better able to:

  • Identify resources for support during litigation; 
  • List reasons why litigation is psychologically difficult for many physicians; 
  • Describe the sequence of events in civil litigation

METHOD OF PARTICIPATION AND HOW TO RECEIVE CME CREDIT
