Target Audience
Pediatricians, Family Practice Physicians, and Pediatric Provider
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, pediatric and adolescent providers should be able to:
- Recognize the epidemiology and trends of substance use in adolescents
- Describe the impact of substance use in particular nicotine products, marijuana and opioids on adolescent health and welfare.
- Explain the laws and best practices regarding incorporating confidential conversations and confidential documentation of adolescent substance abuse and the boundaries of confidentiality in medical care
- Apply best practices and techniques into their practice for incorporating screening
