10/17/22 - Rise to the challenge: Learn techniques for teaching challenging learners in clinical settings
MONDAY, OCTOBER 17
5:30-7:00pm
222 Richmond Street, Room 170
This session will provide participants with a framework for identifying and addressing common challenges in difficult teaching and learning interactions. Using evidence-based practices, we will identify common types of challenges, including working with the reticent, disengaged, domineering, defensive, and irritated learners. We will provide effective strategies for building instructional alliances as well as tools and phrases to improve effective teaching and practice applying these techniques. Participants will receive written takeaway materials with tips and techniques for managing challenging interactions in the future.
Refreshments will be provided.
Target Audience
This session is open to all faculty, staff and trainees.
