Faculty Development Workshop - Feedback Strategies for New Supervisors
This activity will be presented in person at Butler Hospital, Ray Hall, 3:30-5:30 pm.
Pre-registration is required.
Following a didactic presentation of the importance of feedback, barriers to providing feedback, and methods of delivering effective feedback, participants will have the opportunity to role-play a supervisor-trainee dyad in which the supervisor provides feedback and receives commentary from their partner and trainers on their provision of feedback.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for Rhode Island physicians (primary care and specialists), psychologists, and social workers.
Learning Objectives
After participating in this activity, the learner should be better able to:
- Describe various methods of giving feedback to trainees
- Recognize barriers to providing necessary feedback to trainees
- Develop strategies for overcoming barriers to providing feedback
- Implement methods of giving feedback learned through role-play
