Overview

Time management is a key issue for busy clinicians and medical educators. Efficient time management can be a key aspect of faculty wellness and resilience against burnout. This workshop will discuss the major principles from the book "Zen to Done.” Participants will brainstorm about barriers to, and facilitators for, effective time management.

 

Target Audience

All faculty and residents are welcome to complete this course. 

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to: 

  1. Describe the importance of time management 
  2. Define a strategy to set personal and professional priorities 
  3. Identify steps to overcome barriers to effective time management

Mark R. Zonfrillo, MD, MSCE is a pediatric emergency medicine physician, a clinical epidemiologist, and Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics at Hasbro Children’s Hospital and the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. His research focuses on pediatric injury epidemiology, with emphasis on risk factors for motor vehicle occupant injuries, concussion, and disabling injuries in children. Dr. Zonfrillo is the current Director of Postgraduate Academic Career Development for the Department of Pediatrics, and the Associate Director for the Master of Science in Population Medicine at Alpert Medical School of Brown University.

Dr. Zonfrillo earned his medical degree from Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology from the Perelman School of Medicine Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at The University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency and chief residency in pediatrics at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital, and his fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
