Target Audience
This session is open to all faculty, staff and trainees.
Learning Objectives
- Define and articulate the concept of boundaries in both personal and professional settings, including an understanding of their critical importance in maintaining well-being and professional integrity, particularly for women in STEM fields.
- Identify and analyze boundary challenges, including boundary violations that are common in high-demand professions like medicine and STEM, and evaluate their potential impact on mental health and professional performance.
- Develop and implement effective strategies for setting and maintaining boundaries, using evidence-based tools that promote better communication, enhanced relationships, and improved work-life balance.
- Recognize early indicators of boundary violations, assess their effect on emotional and professional stability, and employ techniques to address and rectify such situations in a timely and constructive manner.
- Engage in self-reflection to assess current boundaries, formulate action plans for improvement, and apply strategies for long-term boundary management that fosters both professional success and personal fulfillment.
