Target Audience
This session is open to all faculty, staff and trainees.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss the lived experiences of adopted persons, including challenges related to navigating identity, belonging, and facing cultural and racial differences.
- Explore how the complexities of adoption reveal opportunities in healthcare and offer strategies for creating more inclusive and fair patient care.
- Describe the importance of supporting mothers of origin within the healthcare system to address trauma, grief, and long-term well-being as a starting place in understanding the intergenerational impact of adoption.
