5.7.24 OWIMS Book Club: The Cycle: Confronting the Pain of Periods and PMDD (Session II- live, virtual)
This event will take place live, virtual via Zoom
Overview
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder affects 2-4% of females between menarche and menopause, causing significant emotional and physical symptoms during the late luteal phase of the menstrual cycle. Despite its prevalence, PMDD often goes unrecognized and untreated. "The Cycle," by journalist Shalene Gupta, features discussions with PMDD clinicians and researchers who provide historical and scientific perspectives on this elusive diagnosis and includes candid interviews with individuals living with PMDD. Gupta also shares her own struggles with PMDD and how this condition affects her personal and professional life.
