This Annual Conference is being held live, in-person.

Healthcare, academic medicine, and biomedical research are complex enterprises that require a breadth of abilities beyond the scientific knowledge required to succeed professionally. This conference will provide the opportunity for attendees to reflect on the career paths of successful leaders in medicine and science at Brown and sharpen essential skills like clear communication and conflict management to foster career advancement and promote career satisfaction.

Target Audience

A professional development conference for faculty, trainees and house staff.

Learning Objectives

After participating in this conference, the learner should be better able to: 

  • Implement new skills and practices that can help achieve larger professional and personal goals.

  • Describe the history of women in biomedical sciences at Brown and the Warren Alpert Medical School.

  • Recognize challenges faced by the Sandwich Generation.

  • Employ insights from experienced faculty to draft compelling letters for promotion, grants, and awards.
