The Journal of Pediatric Urology Manuscript Review Activity - 2022

The peer-review process for any academic journal requires experts to review submitted manuscripts to ensure that high standards for evidence-based content are met. As such the review of manuscripts for the Journal of Pediatric Urology represents a format for learning for reviewers.  This learning activity, therefore, can be credited.

Target Audience

Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, fellows, and PhD basic scientists who specialize in pediatrics, pediatric urology, and pediatric surgery.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of a manuscript review, the reviewers should be able to: 

  • Assess the contribution of this manuscript to the Journal of Pediatric Urology knowledge base. 
  • Recognize whether the manuscript represents original work and be able to put the manuscript in the context of other published manuscripts of similar subject matter. 
  • Analysis the study design, results and conclusions for sound evidence-based principles.

Method of Participation:

  1. The Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Pediatric Urology will be responsible for assessing the manuscript review request for CME and approve or disapprove credit. 
  2. The manuscript review will be graded from 0 to 100 by the Managing Editor.  Only reviews graded between 50-100 will be eligible for credit, if requested.
  3. In accordance with the American Board of Urology (ABU), manuscript review credits will be limited to 5 reviews or 15 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM per year.

The disclosure of any conflict of interest (financial or commercial) is required of all persons who are involved with the content of an educational activity provided by the Warren Alpert Medical School.  It is the responsibility of the Warren Alpert Medical School to assess each individual relationship and resolve any conflicts.
