Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be better able to:

  1. Discuss the process of the police investigation of a reported sexual assault and the roles of the victim, law enforcement, medical providers, and legal advocates
  2. Identify victim barriers to reporting sexual assault to law enforcement and following through with the investigation
  3. Identify law enforcement barriers to pursuing investigations of sexual assault
  4. Explore the Role of the Attorney General’s Office in the investigation of sexual assault and role of medical providers in the legal investigation
